What do you think of Hope Valley?

I think Hope Valley by Denyse Schmidt has a Vintage yet Modern look. I really Love the colors and with the smaller prints it would look awesome in my Scrappy Trails pattern. This is one of the kits I am offering for sale.

I want to make this Quilt but first I will be working on a quilt for another kit with Olivia's Holiday, fabrics by Tina Givens. Those will be kitted with my Funky Windows pattern. Currently my Funky Windows pattern is not for sale. I am revising it to include specific cutting directions with 32 fat quarters. For those of you that have purchased this pattern, I will be offering to email you the revised sheet.
More on that when the quilt is finished and the kit is available.

I am going to giveaway a Hope Valley Charm pack, there are 24 charms to a pack. To enter simply leave a comment and let me know what you think of Hope Valley.
Drawing in about a week.
Have a Great Week.

Amore Dolce

For your softer side here is Amore Dolce; in Italian it translates "Sweet Love". Even though Amore (ahmoreh) means Love and Dolce (dolcheh) means sweet; my Italian father told me if you put more then two Italian words together you have to say it the way the Italians would. Italians turn their sentences around a bit. Now you may think that is backwards, but apparently it is the English language that is backwards, most other languages are turned around also. I am not an expert so I could be wrong; I also can not speak Italian, wish I could, I know some words and probably most of the swear words because those are the ones my Aunt would speak in Italian, hoping we did not understand.

I used Tanya Whelan’s Dolce fabrics for this Quilt, and I can’t help it, I am also keeping this one for myself; unless my Mother steals it from me.

This also is one of the Quilts I plan on offering as a Quilt Kit.
Oh, I didn’t mention that yet, did I? Here is my shop announcement on Etsy.

New for 2010
We are looking for a house on 40 acres, so hopefully will be moving in Spring. I need a bigger workshop and my husband wants a bigger playground.
I will be selling a bunch of scrap bags in the next few months as I can not possibly move all these bins of scraps.
I am also ordering fabrics and will be kitting several of my patterns. Quilts kits will be available starting in February.

Quilt Kits will be mostly with Westminster/Free Spirit fabrics.

Meadowsweet Patchwork Baby Quilt

For this big block patchwork baby quilt I used Sandi Henderson’s new fabrics Meadowsweet. I Love these fabrics! The colors are scrumptious and the prints are adorable.

LOVE for Me

I made this quilt for myself; however I will be offering one in my shop as a custom order. I am making quilts with all the cool fabrics for everyone else and decided to make myself a couple. This one I made with Amy Butler’s Love fabrics, and yes another with my Meadow Blocks pattern. I wasn’t planning on keeping a quilt with the Love fabrics since I used those for Amanda’s quilt (thought one in the family was sufficient) but her quilt was from the flannels and only 8 of the prints were released in flannels.

My husband doesn’t understand why I need more quilts; I told him because I need some with the new fabrics. He says I already have a bunch. I really do not have that many, I shouldn’t have to count the 2 on every bed and 2 on the couch, those are necessities, Right? I have a few on my Quilt rack and a few in my spare room’s closet. I, in turn do not understand why he needs 200 duck decoys so I guess we are even. Really, why would ducks land in a pond that is already over populated? Ok, I do realize you need several of each kind of duck, and it depends on what ducks are flying that day and you really do not put them all in the pond at the same time. Well, as an avid quilter I think I should own several quilts in each colorway. You just never know what mood you will be in. Maybe it is a soft pastel day, or a bold and bright day, or a modern floral day. Besides, I should really own a couple from each of my patterns. Yeah, I never open the closet door in the spare room when he is in there; maybe I have a bit more then a few…..

Truth is my Husband is great, he really doesn’t care how many quilts I have, or how much money I spend on fabrics, he just teases me, as I do him.
I am thankful everyday for John; I wish everyone’s marriage was as good as ours.

Have a Great Week

Panache Blocks Quilt

Quilt 3 from my Meadow Blocks pattern. I adore these Panache fabrics with the large modern flowers, paisleys, circles and dots. I am getting to the end of my Panache stash, but not too sad as I have many new fabric collection to play with.
